Crackling airwaves…

Reactions are either too slow, or too late… Sometimes they are over the top… Then over the top ones miss the basket, the ultimate air ball… The point I suppose is that rarely are they on target, well it seems that way to me… Then, back then rather than now it seemed like the thing to do. Now it seems like not enough time was taken to reflect on the moment that has led to his one. Forever going to wonder about this… A singular moment when it was a moment of the present not the past not the future will be whirling in my head far into the future I will look back and think of the past it is bound to happen… It always does.

I tried to find the chemical to erase the magnetic tape loop that is forever running. You would think that the tape would expire… Damn thing never helped back in school when asked a question about something that had no relevance to a ten year old bored with the droning of a tall man… (Who was always quick to point out his self importance. His teaching methods were impotent…) He challenged my ten years of experience against his thirty something… His anger or frustration was evident. The tape loop did not have the vocabulary to tell him what the feeling was as he spoke down at me wagging his finger in my direction. I heard of him the other day, seems his own kids are just as frustrated by his behaviors as I was… No matter. Events from a long time ago rattling around they never seem to go away… All the chemicals that were tried to erase did nothing but bring the tape out in hi-fidelity.

All this is going to have a effect on deciding what is the next meal. That meal won’t be remembered in four days… But the damn anxious frustration, the pacing, that will cut a path way of the matted carpet… That will be remembered and looked at. I will have vacuumed and vacuumed… The path of my indecision will be forever on the carpet. I could move some furniture to hide it, but it might take weeks to make up my mind where to put the sofa, the chair, the end tables all with their own stains of something that happened a long time ago. Hide the circles left from glasses with a magazine that is a year old. The pacing is more now, what is it I was supposed to do, oh yeah decide on food. I’m not hungry anyway… I’m not hungry.

The neighbor down stairs moved away… Her kids came by for a week and now she is moving away. She seemed a bit happy that her kids cared… She seemed a bit un happy that she is moving away. They spoke at the mail box and she apologized to him over and over about the noise from her place downstairs. The power tools, the thumping, the hammers the voices of men hollering out for tools and help and the thuds that shake the building hard enough to scare away the birds eating from the feeder… He was glad to speak with her one more time, and disappointed and happy for her all at the same time. He won’t forget her.

Reactions are either too slow, or too late, sometimes they are over the top. Once in while I hit the target and decide exactly what was needed. Then again who am I to say I missed it any time before? If I am second, third, fourth guessing my self after drinking a fifth? Well I suppose that might make sense. The moments that led to this one are all behind me now. Not to worry, just got to remember to enjoy the moment and when asked to make up my mind, I can rest easy knowing that it is a works in progress. It is a works in progress, and worrying about it ain’t time well spent. Of course I spend on things that cause many others to walk away shaking there head. I don’t expect them to understand. I don’t expect them to understand…

From games in the trash.

“Being called insane, is hardly a threat of any kind, I have been called much worse by far more superior then the like s of you…”

Rick was forever returning to the scene of a crime. Forever having to relive what happened… Rick’s only defense was sarcastic come backs that put the others down, by showing off he had some education in a group of people that did not. Vance fed on peoples ignorance and thought Rick, was inferior, for that matter Vance thought all were less than Vance. In the end days of Vance, Rick watched Vance crumble and lose all his cool and finally collapse into the angry embittered old man that Vance tried so desperately to hide from the world...

Boredom...

I seldom know boredom. When I do I have to ask, what could I do to contribute?
Boredom is equal to arrogance, mixed with sloth.

The chickens are loose.

A response to a editorial from the New York Times.

Paul Krugman / America Goes Dark.

Hold on Rick, the gate got opened up and the chickens are running loose!

Indeed, it is a sad state of affairs. I have been complaining for years about the infrastructure of this country. I get these on line surveys with regularity from D.C. asking what I think is important. They never ask about infrastructure. They barely touch on education. Except for student loan reform. There seems to be a attitude that public works programs are some sort of reference to history going back to FDR. Most of the roadways / interstate system was designed and built with a lifespan of about fifty years. AHEM! Hello it has been longer then fifty years for many bridges and roadways.

Boost the economy… It is simple put money in the hands of the consumers, put them to work here. They spend and invest here. There is plenty of work to be done across the united states. It boggles the mind how D.C. talks of job creation and they toss around pretty words like “new jobs, new industry…” hey there are plenty of old fashioned jobs that need to get done.
If this country spent ten years getting the infrastructure back in place, and quit wasting money in overseas skirmishes that only drain the economy I bet we would see a massive turn around. Sadly many in this country are very short sighted. Politicians only look as far as the next election. John/ Jane Q Public, looks as far as the next paycheck and worries if he is going to have one. Tax breaks to the upper crust, is a simple design of securing re-election contributions.

Education… Ahhhhhg! I have a 12 year old and a 14 year old. The stories that come out the govt. schools of today simply horrify me. Teachers who are face booking during class hours, or twitting, (the silly twits) . The hours spent in the class room by so called teachers who can’t be bothered to do their chosen profession. Teachers that put on movies that have zero content that is connected to the course of study. Class hours cut, so that these over worked teachers can have a extra day to catch up. that’s right every other Friday the kids don’t go to school. Yet from what I have heard the teachers should not be that busy to begin with. Not all teachers mind you are this horrible (I hope), yes the examples I give are from the a very tiny sliver into the education system.

The education system in this country is laughable at best. It is not equal it is lopsided and bloated with instructors that simply want their pensions and ride it out. There are amazing people in this country that have a abundance of gifts to offer as instructors, alas they are not the norm. They are often trampled by the education unions and forced out into the private sector. Of course private schools are looking better, but as we all know not all hard working ’Mericans, can afford that. That was known back in the beginning of public education. They knew then to make a strong citizenry it needed to have an educated one. Now the folks pulling the strings and the upper crust are frightened by educated people because they understand that by numbing down the lower and middle class society is a manageable society. Keep them numb with the illusion of a dream and television.

Well Rick I read the article and look what happened, I thank you sir. It got me to thinking and I am grateful for this wondrous miracle of the internet that allows folks like you and I, that most likely would have never met, to exchange ideas.

Chris…
